Casting Information

The MainStreet Theatre Company is a professional company employing members of Actor's Equity Association. Audition notices will be posted here as well as on the Actor's Equity website and in Backstage. Auditions are held approximately 8 weeks prior to the first rehearsal of each show.

Most of our auditions will be open calls, with some additional appointments for each show, when and if time allows. Open calls are held in Los Angeles as well as on site at the Cultural Center.

Non-Union calls (for understudies, if any, and some roles in each production) will be held at the same time as union calls. All actors must be over 18 and be able to attend daytime rehearsals and performances. Non union actors will receive pay.

Please note:
Our productions use the Equity TYA agreement, and rehearsals are held 6 days a week for 40 hours per week. Most shows receive 2 to 3 weeks of rehearsal. Rehearsal schedules will be finalized once shows are cast. Each show in our 2010/2011 season will have 9 performances per week: six performances on weekday mornings (9:15 AM and 11:15 AM) for school groups, and three public performances for families on the weekends.
